6. Is your packaging eco-friendly?
At Governor’s Estate, we are committed to balancing sustainability with product quality and shelf life.
Many of our packaging components are recyclable, and we actively seek out eco-conscious materials where possible. However, to preserve the flavour, freshness, and quality of our teas, especially our more delicate blends, we use aluminium foil lining in select pouches. This helps prevent moisture exposure and protects against aroma loss during storage and transit.
We’re always working toward more sustainable solutions, and as better materials become available, we will continue to evolve our packaging practices.
7. Are your teas organic and ethically sourced?
Not all of our products are certified organic, but many of our blends do contain organic ingredients.
We are committed to sourcing the highest-quality, ethically grown botanicals from trusted suppliers. Where organic ingredients are used, they will be clearly noted on the packaging and product pages.
At Governor’s Estate, our focus is on purity, wellness, and sustainability, whether that means organic-certified ingredients or sourcing from small, single-origin estates that uphold traditional and sustainable farming methods.
8. Do your teas contain caffeine?
Our range includes both caffeinated and caffeine-free options. Each product page specifies the caffeine content, allowing you to choose blends that suit your preferences and needs.
9. How should I brew your teas?
Every tea has its perfect brewing temperature and time, that’s the secret to unlocking its full flavour and wellness benefits. We include specific instructions on each product page, but here’s a quick guide to help you brew the perfect cup:
🔥 Boiling Point Basics
- Black Teas (e.g. English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Chai):
Bring water to a full boil (100°C). Pour directly over your tea and steep for 3–5 minutes. - Green Teas (e.g. Sencha, Green Tea with Soursop):
Bring water to a boil, then let it sit uncovered for about 7 minutes to cool to around 80°C before pouring over the leaves. Steep for 2–3 minutes. - Herbal & Tisanes (e.g. Chamomile, Hibiscus, Rooibos):
Use freshly boiled water (100°C) and steep for 5–7 minutes to draw out the full aroma and therapeutic benefits.
💡 How to get 80°C water without a thermometer:
You don’t need fancy equipment. Here's how to estimate it:
- Bring your kettle to a full boil.
- Open the lid and let it sit for 5–7 minutes.
- The water naturally cools to about 80°C - perfect for green and delicate teas.
🧊 Cold Infusions & Iced Tea:
Want to enjoy your tea chilled?
- Steep your tea in hot water as usual (doubling the amount for extra strength).
- Let it cool, then refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Serve over ice, with fresh herbs or citrus for a refreshing twist.
